Dear River Reach Family, “And we preach to you the good news of the promise made to the fathers, 33 that God has fulfilled this promise to our children in that He raised up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm, ‘YOU ARE MY SON; TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU.’ Acts 13:32-33…
Our Lord’s last command to us to “make disciples of all the nations” (Matthew 28:19) requires some Holy Spirit called faithful disciples to leave their homes and churches and travel to distant lands with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul, Barnabas, and John Mark were the first Holy Spirit commissioned missions team of the church. What would it be like to be a missionary?
Governmental authorities wield real power that directly impacts our lives (Acts 12:1-3). While we have been blessed in the United States with religious freedom, it doesn’t take much to imagine that those freedoms will come to an end someday soon. How should we respond to such foreboding danger?
I know we have all been watching the development of Hurricane Dorian. Initially it looked like there was a possibility that Jacksonville could take a direct hit. Florida landfall at this point looks to be several days away. Thankfully it looks like we will be able to proceed with our regular schedule this weekend.

In God’s providential wisdom, believers experience real problems. Some problems are small, others are large. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is sufficient to meet every need of every human being.
God has a special plan for everyone of his children (Acts 9:15-16). Our ultimate purpose in life is to bring glory to Jesus Christ. We glorify our Lord by growing in personal sanctification and in service for the Lord.

Do you ever look at someone and think, “There is no hope for that person!” Maybe they are deeply bound by sin. Maybe their life is a disaster. Maybe they hate God and are opposed to the Gospel. Maybe you look at you own life and think there is no hope in your situation. Praise God Jesus Christ transforms lives!
We feel the weight of being a witness for the Lord. It can be intimidating to share Jesus with someone. Not everyone will respond well and trust the Lord to save them, but the Holy Spirit is at work right now in the lives of people drawing them to true faith in Christ!
