Making reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ

Lord’s Supper / Re-Introducing Jesus Christ – Revelation 1:5-8

Dear River Reach Family,

To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood — 6 and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father — to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 7 BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen.

Revelation 1:5-7

Much of our world consists of distant interactions and limited personal relationships. How many of your friends on Facebook do you see each year? When is the last time you interacted with them? While we may have enjoyed a closer relationship in the past, time and distance clouds our perception of our friends. Every believer at some point has been introduced to Jesus Christ through the pages of Scripture. At some point the Holy Spirit used the Word of God to convict our hearts about our need for forgiveness and the singular ability of Jesus to forgive our sins. We rejoiced in Christ’s love and sacrifice and the the joys of being welcomed into His kingdom and family through simple faith in Him. But as the Christian life grinds on, it is so easy for the swirl of daily pressures and activities of life to dim our view of Christ and the significance He should make in our lives. As John introduces the Book of Revelation, He reintroduces us to Jesus Christ our Lord. When we reacquaint ourselves with our Lord, the wonders of His love and grace will rekindle the vitality of our relationship with Him!

Sermon: “Re-Introducing Jesus Christ” – Revelation 1:5-8

Lord’s Supper this Sunday following the Morning Service

Since our passage for this Sunday does such a wonderful job of pointing us to remember our Lord, I believe it would be fitting for us to observe the Lord’s supper at the end our our morning service. In preparation for our observation, please take time to consider your own relationship with the Lord (1 Cor. 11:27-32) and confess your sins to Him! (1 John 1:9)
