Making reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ

Providential Protection – Acts 23:11-35

Dear River Reach Family,

But on the night immediately following, the Lord stood at his side and said, “Take courage; for as you have solemnly witnessed to My cause at Jerusalem, so you must witness at Rome also.”

Acts 23:11

Have you ever looked at your life and thought, “None of what is happening to me makes sense!” Or maybe, “These problems in my life seem to be hindering my attempts to honor and serve the Lord.” How can wasted time, money, effort or senseless pain or pointless conflict be profitable? If God is sovereign over all (and He is), then why can’t He just smoothing things out and remove the uncomfortable and inefficient parts of life to enable us to focus our efforts on “profitable” ministry? From our vantage point life may at times seem like a big and pointless mess, but that is never the case. Even in the most frustrating and difficult parts of life, God is perfectly executing His plan in our life to enable us to accomplish His will and bring glory to His name! The Holy Spirit records for us Paul’s life in Roman custody under Jewish threat along with the Jesus Christ’s specific words of encouragement to Paul in the midst of frustrating circumstances to assure us of His wisdom and sovereign design at work in our lives. Nothing is a waste. All is working together for our good and God’s glory!
