Making reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ

Boldly Facing Conflict – Acts 22:25-23:10

Dear River Reach Family,

Then Paul said to him, “God is going to strike you, you whitewashed wall! Do you sit to try me according to the Law, and in violation of the Law order me to be struck?”

Acts 23:3

Satan knows how to craft intimidating pressures to make us cower in fear. He intends to back you down from the truth of Jesus Christ and His Word and submit to error. His tools of intimidation range from peer pressure to political correctness to arrest and even direct physical assault. How should a committed believer respond when faced with pressure to knuckle under and deny the Lord? With only a limited view of God’s Word Christians may think that conflict avoidance should be our ultimate goal. Thankfully the Holy Spirit has given us multiple examples in Scripture of believers who have successfully navigated these troubling waters in a way that honors the Lord. This Sunday we rejoin Paul as he claims his Roman citizenship rights to avert the plan of his enemies and then boldly stands before the Jewish Council.
