Who We Are
Our Mission & Identity
Our Mission: We are a church family called from death to life by Jesus Christ and committed to honoring Him in all things by submitting to the authority of the Bible, changing to be like Him, caring for one another, and proclaiming His glory to all the nations.
Our Identity: We are baptistic in doctrine, defending the authority of the Bible, contending for the faith once delivered (Jude 3) while striving to share the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15; 1 Corinthians 13:1–3).
“I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.” — Matthew 16:18
Our Doctrinal Statement
Click any section below to read our biblical convictions and core doctrinal beliefs:
Section 1 – The Bible
- Revelation: We believe that God communicates with man (John 1:1). He communicates through Creation (Psalm 19:1–6; Romans 1:18–20) leaving man without an excuse for his sin. His primary specific means of communication is through the 66 books of the Bible (2 Peter 1:20–21).
- Inspiration: We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16). God the Holy Spirit supernaturally influenced human writers to produce exactly His message to mankind (2 Peter 1:21).
- Inerrancy: We believe that verbal, plenary inspiration demands inerrancy (John 10:34–35). God supernaturally ensured that every word written in Scripture was the truth. The Bible is true in everything it says including scientific data, historical fact, and the plan of salvation (John 17:17).
- Preservation: God promised to preserve His Word down to the very letter and stroke of the letter (Matthew 5:17–18; 24:35). God has providentially preserved His Word in the multiplicity of biblical manuscripts. Not one word has been lost through copying or human error (Mark 13:31; Luke 21:33).
- Sufficiency: We believe that the Bible is the sole authority for faith and practice (Mark 7:1–13; Matthew 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:17; Hebrews 4:12). No modern philosophy or psychology is necessary to live pleasing to God (2 Peter 1:3).
Section 2 – God
- The Trinity: We believe that Scripture reveals God as three distinct Persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—who are co-equal in essence, attributes, and perfection, yet one God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
- Order in the Godhead: We believe that there exists a voluntary, willing, loving submission between the persons of the Godhead—the Son to the Father (John 14:31, 15:10, 17:23–26) and the Holy Spirit to the Father and the Son (John 14:26, 16:13–14).
- God the Father: The Father sent the Son for the redemption of the world to provide the way of salvation from the penalty of sin (John 3:16–17).
- God the Son (Jesus Christ): We believe in the eternal deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His substitutionary death on the cross through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal, imminent return.
- God the Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine Person who convicts the world of sin, regenerates, indwells, seals, and empowers every believer at the moment of salvation, striving with people (Genesis 6:3), reproving (John 16:8), teaching (Luke 12:12), and interceding for the saints (Romans 8:26–27).
Section 3 – Man
- Creation: We believe that God directly created man in His image. We deny evolution and any philosophy that attempts to account for the creation of man and the universe apart from a direct supernatural act of God in six literal, consecutive 24-hour days (Genesis 1–2).
- The Fall & Sinful Nature: All people are born into this world with a sinful nature and are now sinners by birth and by choice, positively inclined to evil (Psalm 51:5, 58:3; Ephesians 2:3; Romans 3:23; 8:7).
- Inability: Man, apart from salvation, can do nothing pleasing to God or meriting His favor (Isaiah 64:6; Romans 5:6; 8:8).
- Consequence of Sin: Sin incurs the just and deserved condemnation of God to certain eternal punishment in hell without defense, excuse, or strength for one to save himself (John 3:18, 36; Romans 3:19; 2 Thessalonians 1:7–9; Revelation 20:10, 15).
Section 4 – Salvation
- Substitutionary Atonement: We believe that God, in perfect love, came in the person of Jesus Christ to shed His blood and died as the substitute and representative for all mankind (Romans 5:8–9; 1 Peter 2:24, 3:18; Isaiah 53:4–6; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
- Resurrection: We believe that Jesus Christ was raised bodily from the dead, proving that He had completely and perfectly satisfied the demand of God that sin be punished (Romans 3:25, 4:25, 10:9; 1 John 2:2).
- Repentance & Faith: We believe that God commands all men everywhere to admit their sinful, guilty, helpless condition to God (repentance) and to trust Jesus Christ and His shed blood as their only hope of salvation (Acts 17:30; Luke 13:3, 5; Acts 3:19).
- By Grace Alone: We believe that salvation is wholly of God's grace in response to our faith in Christ and has nothing whatever to do with our own "good works," status, religion, church affiliation, or merit (Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5; Romans 4:5).
- Separation unto God: We believe that separation from sin is a clear mandate of the Bible for every believer (1 Peter 1:13–16; Romans 12:1–2; 2 Corinthians 6:14–7:1; Ephesians 5:1–13).
Section 5 – The Church & Ordinances
- The Universal Church: We believe that all those who repent of their sins and trust Christ for salvation are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into the spiritual Body of Christ, the church (1 Corinthians 12:12–13; Ephesians 3:6), of which Christ is the ultimate head and authority (Ephesians 1:22; Colossians 1:18). The church was formed on the Day of Pentecost, is distinct from the nation of Israel (1 Corinthians 10:32), and will be removed from the earth prior to the Great Tribulation (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18).
- The Local Church: We believe that the local church is a local body of baptized believers who have voluntarily joined together to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ by fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19–20), growing in grace (Ephesians 4:13–16), teaching and preaching the Bible (2 Timothy 2:2, 15), fellowshipping (Acts 2:47; Hebrews 10:24–25), and keeping the ordinances.
- Baptism: We believe that all who trust Christ for salvation are commanded to make public profession of this faith by being baptized by immersion in water. Baptism is an act of obedience after salvation and has no saving power; therefore, only those old enough to repent, believe, and obey are proper subjects for baptism (Acts 2:38–42).
- The Lord's Supper: We believe the Lord's Supper is commanded by the Lord to remind us of His broken body and shed blood to pay for our sins and to remind us of His promised return. It has no saving power (1 Corinthians 11:23–26; Matthew 26:26–30).
Section 6 – Future Events
- The Eternal State: We believe that the spirits of the saved at death go immediately to be with the Lord until the rapture of the church, when their bodies are resurrected and made like the resurrected body of Christ to be with the Lord forever (2 Corinthians 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:51–55). The spirits of the unsaved at death descend immediately into Hades under punishment until the final day of judgment, when they shall be raised, judged, and cast into the Lake of Fire (Luke 16:19–31; 2 Peter 2:9; Revelation 20:11–15). There is no hope for any human being to have his eternal destiny changed after physical death (Hebrews 9:27).
- The Return of Christ: We believe in the personal, bodily, pretribulational, premillennial, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ in the air to rapture His bride, the church (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; John 14:1–3), followed by the Great Tribulation and Christ's millennial reign on earth (Revelation 19–20).
Section 7 – Satan
- Reality & Deception of Satan: We believe that Satan is a literal demonic spirit who is perfectly evil and uses every available means to deceive the world into opposing God and His truth.
- Spiritual Victory & Resistance: We believe that Satan can be resisted by believers through the power of the Holy Spirit using the armor and weapons that God in grace has provided (1 John 4:4; Ephesians 6:10–18; James 4:7; Matthew 4:4–11), and that God commands every believer to resist the devil and separate from all sin (Ephesians 5:11; 2 Corinthians 6:14–17).
