Dear River Reach Family, So the word of the Lord was growing mightily and prevailing. Acts 19:20 Our world is dependent on power sources. Connection to the power grid, battery life, fuel levels, energy levels determine the quality of our lives and our productivity. Power outages quickly bring our lives to a screeching halt. While…
With gratitude in our hearts to the Lord for His mercy to us during this Covid-19 pandemic, we are excited to announce that we will begin a phased reopening of our in person services! This Sunday, May 17th, we plan to hold our morning worship service at the building and on Zoom at 10:30am.
While we would like to view Mother’s Day through the lense of soft baby cheeks and sweet smelling perfume, the reality of a woman’s life in a sin cursed world is often light years from such comforts. Sinful hearts have the potential to create a boiling pot of tension within a marriage.
We’ve all heard the adage, “The more you know, the more you know you don’t know.” Since we are finite beings, we will never know everything. In this life we must learn how to grow through our own ignorance.
Whether you are mother caring for you children, a father at work or in the home, a missionary, or a pastor of a church, it is easy to fall into the routine of serving the Lord where He has placed us and lose sight of the big picture.
The message of Good Friday and Easter
Life may see like a bunch of random events colliding together haphazardly to form our existence. Take pandemics, forced life changes, nationalities, job skills, geographic locations, political movements, angry people, the need to make money, and a list of other variables and put them all together and what do you have?
Since God is our Creator, then He must also hold a position of authority over us as Lord. All authorities have expectations for those who are under their authority. What does our Creator Lord expect from us?
Why did God create us? For His glory! (Isaiah 43:7; Revelation 4:11) God is glorified when we are satisfied and filled through our relationship with Him. Before the curse God filled Adam’s life with endless blessings and marvelous beauties! (Genesis 2:9-12; 1:31) The greatest gift of all was personal fellowship and communion with God Himself (Genesis 3:8-9).
God’s authority is rooted in His position as our Creator (Jeremiah 18:6). Our Creator is also by right our Lord. Our Creator gave us a free will and personal responsibility to choose how we will relate to Him (Romans 1:21).
