Making reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ

Perseverance Richly Rewarded – Revelation 3:7-13

Dear River Reach Family,

‘Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

Revelation 3:10

Many times in life we wish that we could control our circumstances. If we were able to design our Christian life we would eliminate all opposition and setback and create a clear path for visible fruitfulness for the Lord. Satan and his forces would be bound and prevented from stirring up opposition to the Gospel. But we do not design our life or ministry circumstances. Jesus alone holds the keys of sovereign control to the doors of life experience. In His perfect wisdom He allows at times intense suffering and setback for His faithful servants. He calls us to serve Him and places us in circumstances out of our control. We cannot open shut doors. Our sole responsibility is to persevere in faithfulness and obedience to the Lord and walk through doors that He opens for us. While we may not understand the details of this life, Jesus Christ promises to richly reward all who will press on in their limited power to honor Him. By His grace we can overcome all opposition and temptation. Our struggle will soon be over when Christ returns! We will be glad we pressed on for His glory.
