Making reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ

The Portrait of a Biblical Elder – Acts 20:13-24

Dear River Reach Family,

You yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, how I was with you the whole time, 19 serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and with trials which came upon me through the plots of the Jews

Acts 20:18-19

Leaders make a significant impact on our lives and well-being. Over the last few months as American citizens we’ve learned from first hand experience how the character and wisdom of public leaders directly affect our lives. To an even greater extent spiritual leaders can either be a great blessing and help to us or be tools of Satan to lead us astray. As Paul is rushing back to Jerusalem to celebrate the church’s birthday, he takes time to stop and give a challenge to the elders of the Ephesian church. The Holy Spirit wisely included Paul’s charge to these elders to teach us the proper philosophy and mindset of a biblical church leader. Whether we are leaders or lay persons in the church we must all develop a godly philosophy of ministry.

Wednesday Evening Prayer and Bible Study online only this week

With great joy we announced this past Wednesday evening Shawn’s desire to join our church as a member. Since he is under Covid-19 restrictions to stay on base, we will be meeting online only this Wednesday evening to hear his salvation testimony and vote on him for church membership. Looking forward to a wonderful time this Wednesday evening!

Preparing to observe the Lord’s Supper on June 21st

Having been delayed by the pandemic, we look forward to following our Lord’s instruction to remember His death together as a church. We are still not back to normal yet, but we want to do what we can to honor Lord in the meantime. It is our desire to include those of you who are homebound at this in our observance. Beginning this Sunday we will be making available prepackaged bread and grape juice for you to use in our celebration on June 21st. You are welcome to pick them up from the church if you are in the area. You may have a family member bring them home for you. We will be happy to deliver them to you if you desire to participate. If you have any questions, please contact myself or Pastor Dan.
