Making reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ

On Mission With the Lord – Act 18:1-18

Dear River Reach Family,

And the Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision, “Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent; 10 for I am with you, and no man will attack you in order to harm you, for I have many people in this city.”

Acts 18:9-10

Whether you are mother caring for you children, a father at work or in the home, a missionary, or a pastor of a church, it is easy to fall into the routine of serving the Lord where He has placed us and lose sight of the big picture. We have responsibilities to carry out. We have problems to solve. We have people to help. We need to advance the Gospel. We must continually adapt to changing circumstances to stay on mission. Almost like a salmon swimming upstream, the pace of responsibility can quickly wear us down. Thankfully this is a skewed picture of ministry reality! The Lord is with us as we serve him in the place he plants us. We don’t need to fear failure, danger, or the future. He promises to empower us, protect us, and bless our labor with fruit! We are not alone facing the onslaught of responsibilities. This week the Holy Spirit encourages us with the big picture behind the visible grind of serving the Lord.
