Making reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ

The Reward of Putting God First 1/18

Dear River Reach Family,

Is the seed still in the barn? Even including the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate and the olive tree, it has not borne fruit. Yet from this day on I will bless you.”

Haggai 2:19

Whether you realize it or not, you are an investor. So far God has given you life and allowed you to round the corner into another year. How will you invest this year of your life? The world preaches that self-centered living will be the best investment. Spend your time soaking up ease. Spend your life working feverishly to build your kingdom. God’s Word promises the exact opposite. A life spent putting self first will result in emptiness and futility. God works to make self-centered living difficult and unprofitable (Haggai 1:9-11). Thankfully for those who repent of their self-seeking and put God’s kingdom first, God promises to fill their lives with true reward and blessing! (Haggai 2:19, 23). This Sunday we will meditate on the motivation for God-first living.

An Encouraging Pastors Fellowship

Pastor Dan and I with our families enjoyed a wonderful time at a pastor’s fellowship in Bradenton, FL this week. It was such a blessing to be able to spend a few days with around 250 pastors and some of their wives who are trying to serve the Lord and make disciples of Jesus Christ. The Lord encouraged our hearts and gave renewed motivation to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
