Making reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ

Be Saved by Calling on Jesus’ Name! 3/15

Dear River Reach Family,

AND IT SHALL BE THAT EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”

Acts 2:21

Though we don’t enjoy feeling guilty, conviction of sin is an essential step to repentance and forgiveness from God for our sins. The Gospel message first calls us to humility and guilt before it lifts our eyes to the Lord who bore the guilt of our sins and paid for them in full on the cross. He triumphed over death through the resurrection (Acts 2:24) and has been enthroned at the right hand of God (Acts 2:32-33). Jesus Christ’s triumph and enthronement unleashed an endless flow of mercy and grace to those who will call on His name (Acts 2:21). Though we may be the most heinous of sinners (Acts 2:23, 35), Jesus loves us and offers to everyone His salvation (Acts 2:21). Peter’s message on the day of Pentecost reverberates with the glorious themes that fill our lives with hope and joy today!
